A 31-YEAR-OLD resident of Ongwediva was robbed of his belongings after stopping his car to inspect a noise coming from underneath the vehicle.
The robbery occurred near a speed-calming hump on the street leading from the Ongwediva-Oshakati main road to the NAMCOR filling station at around 01:30 on Sunday.
It is alleged that the driver, who was travelling in a white Toyota Hilux GD-6 from the direction of Oshakati, stopped to investigate a disturbance underneath the vehicle, which turned out to be a loose wire.
However, while removing the wire, he was approached by an unknown man who revealed a firearm in his waistband and instructed him not to move but to hand over any valuables he had.
Two other men then arrived at the scene and quickly removed the victim’s belongings from the car.
The three suspects were picked up by a white Toyota Corolla, which sped off in the direction of the Oshakati-Ongwediva main road.
No arrests have been made yet.
