DESPITE concerns expressed by some political parties about alleged irregularities in the procurement of ballot papers, preparations for the 27 November Presidential and National Assembly elections are moving forward.
In the latest development, a delegation comprising ECN officials and representatives from 18 political parties contesting the November elections departed for Johannesburg, South Africa, on Sunday. Over the course of nine days, they will observe the design, layout, production, printing, packaging, and delivery of the ballot papers.

The delegation is expected to return on 29 October.
The ECN named the 18 political parties as ADM, AR, APP, BCP, CoD, IPC, LPM, NEFF, NDP, NEFC, NPF, NUDO, RDP, SWANU, SWAPO, UDF, UNP, and UPM.
Two other contesting parties — CDVP and RP — were unable to travel due to unforeseen circumstances, while PDM appears to have boycotted the trip, citing claims of irregularities.
