A 40-YEAR-OLD woman has been left permanently disfigured and is in critical condition after she was hacked in the head with a panga by her husband.
According to the weekend crime bulletin, the incident of attempted murder, read with the provisions of the Domestic Violence Act, occurred on Friday, 18 October 2024, at around 22:00 at flats near the Outapi Heritage Baobab tree in Outapi town, Outapi Constituency.
It is alleged that the suspect, who is the husband of the 40-year-old female complainant, hacked her twice on the forehead with a panga, causing her to sustain serious cut wounds. The suspect also verbally threatened to kill her. He has not yet been arrested, and police investigations continue.
