A 21-YEAR-OLD woman was rescued from a potential rape after community members heard her screams and fended off three men who attempted to assault her.
According to the weekend crime bulletin, the incident of attempted rape and assault occurred on Saturday, 19 October 2024, at around 02:00 in the #Oabatere location, Etoshapoort, Outjo.
It is alleged that the woman was assaulted by three male suspects. Further reports indicate that the suspects were in the process of removing her clothes with the intent to rape her, but community members came to her rescue when they heard her screams coming from the bushes near the driving school. The victim was taken to the hospital for a medical examination, and a 19-year-old male suspect was arrested. The search for the other two suspects is ongoing. Police investigations continue.
