THE Namibian Police at Okatyali, Oshana Region, are appealing to the public for information regarding 22-year-old Israel Akwaake, also known as Pandu, who went missing while looking for work in the region’s major urban centres.
He is from Omukandu village in the Uukwiyuushona Constituency and reportedly left home to go to Oshakati in search of employment.
It is not clear whether he ever reached Oshakati.
Pandu was last seen on 12 August at around 13:00 at Bonny Kamarada’s place, a known gathering place in Ondangwa where people seeking job opportunities gather and where job announcements are made. He was not recorded in the register at the venue, and his whereabouts since leaving there remain unknown.
His mother contacted relatives in Oshakati, but none had seen him or knew where he was. Efforts by the family to locate him have so far been unsuccessful. This is the first time he has gone missing from home.
Pandu (see picture) is described as light in complexion, of average height and medium build. He has dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with red stripes, blue jeans and white All Star sneakers. He was carrying a black bag. He does not have a cellphone.
