TWO fatal stabbing incidents in Okaku and Epako have left a 19-year-old and a 26-year-old dead, with one minor and two adult suspects arrested as police investigations continue.
In Okaku, a 19-year-old man was killed in the early hours of Saturday at Omapeleki Location in Oluhwa village, Oshikoto Region, after he was allegedly attacked with an okapi knife by a 15-year-old suspect.
According to the police weekend crime report, the incident occurred at around 01:15 when the victim, identified as Abrosius Tangeni Nghifikepunye, was allegedly stabbed during an altercation. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The motive behind the attack is not yet known. The deceased’s next of kin have been informed, and the suspect has been taken into police custody. Investigations continue.
In a separate incident in Epako, Gobabis, Omaheke Region, a 26-year-old man, Frederick Lubaan, was fatally stabbed on Thursday night following a physical altercation outside his residence.
It is alleged that Lubaan was socialising with his brother when a confrontation broke out between him and two suspects, aged 23 and 21, during which he was stabbed.
The victim reportedly managed to return inside the house, informed his brother that he had been stabbed, and then collapsed.
He was rushed to Gobabis State Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The next of kin have been informed. The two suspects have been arrested and remain in police custody while investigations continue.
