NAMPOWER has announced a planned power outage scheduled for 13 May 2026, which will affect Rehoboth and several surrounding areas and farms as maintenance work is carried out on high-voltage equipment and power lines.
According to NamPower, the outage will take place from 08:00 to 16:00 and will affect the Rehoboth Substation, including Rehoboth 1, Blumfeld and Klein Aub, as well as the Oanob Substation, including Oanob 1.
Areas expected to be affected include all surrounding farms, Rietoog NamWater, Hochanas, Dornfontein, Rusplaas, Wolfputz, Gurus, Duinefeld, Kalkrand, Limerick, Cowdray, Schlip, Tsumis, Rehoboth, Kanaus Noord, Nauchas and Gollschau.
NamPower explained that the outage is necessary to conduct maintenance on all high-voltage equipment at the substations and to perform line maintenance on the Klein Aub 66kV power line.
Residents and affected consumers have been advised to treat all power lines as live during the outage period, as electricity supply may be restored without prior notice.
Further details regarding the outage are expected to be communicated in due course.
