FLOODING PERSISTS: The rapid rise of the Zambezi River has left several villages underwater. Communities in Kabbe South and Kabbe North are among those affected, with floodwaters hindering residents’ movement. According to the Hydrological Services of Namibia, the Zambezi River at Katima Mulilo recorded a water level of 6.89 metres on Monday, 23 March, as it continued to overflow into the eastern Zambezi floodplains. Communities along the river are therefore advised to remain on high alert and activate flood preparedness and response measures. The same warning applies to communities near the Chobe River at Ngoma and the Kavango River at Rundu, which recorded water levels of 3.86 metres and 7.13 metres respectively on Monday.
