TWO men, aged 26 and 51, were apprehended Saturday afternoon while attempting to sell elephant tusks near Oshakati.
The tusks were discovered while the suspects were travelling on the Oshakati–Endola main road at around 14:50.
Details on the quantity and value of the tusks have not been released. The suspects are scheduled to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
As Namibians celebrated the 36th Independence Anniversary this weekend, the Namibian Police intensified operations to prevent and combat crime, including setting up mobile roadblocks.
