THE Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform has appointed Romeo Muyunda as Deputy Director for Public Relations and Information Services and official spokesperson.
Muyunda will lead the ministry’s strategic communications function, oversee media relations and ensure the timely dissemination of information on government programmes, policies and initiatives related to agriculture, fisheries, water and land reform. He will also serve as the primary liaison between the ministry and the media.
According to the ministry, Muyunda brings more than 17 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Corporate Communications Manager at the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia and previously held the position of Chief Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.
The ministry said it is confident that his expertise and leadership will strengthen its communication efforts and support its mandate of promoting sustainable agricultural development, responsible water and land management, and improved livelihoods for communities across Namibia.
Management has congratulated Muyunda on his appointment and welcomed him to the team.
