THE Namibian Police in the //Kharas Region is investigating the death of a woman identified as Fernanda Mouton, whose body was discovered in a water canal in Noordoewer.
According to Deputy Commissioner Nicodemus Mbango, the discovery of the deceased was made on Monday, 28 July 2025, at about 07:00.
He added that workers of Farm Joydale found the lifeless body of a female person in the canal and informed the police.
“Shoes believed to belong to the deceased were found on the edge of the canal, and one human shoe print (plakkie) was observed at the scene, believed to be from a possible suspect. According to the family, she was last seen on Friday, 25 July 2025, with her boyfriend, but the boyfriend couldn’t be traced,” Mbango said.
He added that while preliminary investigations suggested that she might have been killed and thrown into the canal, a postmortem report showed that the deceased had died from natural causes.
Mbango, however, added that police will continue to investigate the matter due to the circumstances at the scene and how the body had been discovered.
