THE Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with the Commonwealth, has officially kicked off its first-ever Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) Consultative Dialogue.
The CYC Consultative Dialogue, which started on 04 August, will conclude on 08 August 2025 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.
In a statement issued by Ministry spokesperson Aina Shikesho, it was indicated that the dialogue, the first of its kind on Namibian soil, will convene over 100 youth leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the 56 Commonwealth nations.
The dialogue is being held under the theme: “Reimagining Youth Leadership: Strengthening Systems for Sustainable Impact.”
“The opening ceremony will officially launch a week of youth-led engagement, strategic dialogue, and knowledge exchange,” she said.
She added that it will feature high-level roundtables and panel discussions, including Ministers of Youth, National Youth Councils, and regional youth bodies.
Shikesho said that the dialogue will focus on key development areas such as innovation, climate action, education, economic inclusion, and civic participation.
She stressed that delegates are expected to contribute to the formation of the Windhoek Declaration, a youth-informed outcome document aimed at guiding Commonwealth youth engagement moving forward.
