PRESIDENT Nangolo Mbumba highlighted Namibia’s progress towards becoming a logistics hub in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, with the latest milestone being the official commencement of the construction of the Nambaza Logistics Park in Walvis Bay.
“Once completed, Nambaza Logistics Park will be a 150,000 square-metre industrial complex, consisting of a truck port equipped with a fuel station and 250 parking bays. Additionally, it will provide accommodation, a healthcare facility, and several amenities for users,” the president said.

He made these remarks at the official groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Nambaza Logistics Park, which aims to provide a demand-driven logistical hub that will propel Namibia into the future of manufacturing, bulk breaking, and exports. This event also served as the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Blue Institute of Technology (BIT) in Walvis Bay.
“Today’s groundbreaking also includes the construction of the Blue Institute of Technology (BIT), which will support skills development, research, and employment creation,” the president explained.
According to him, the project represents the government’s commitment to ensuring that Namibia is ready for business growth, particularly in emerging industries such as green hydrogen and oil and gas.
“By creating economic infrastructure and industries, while investing in quality education, we are timely preparing and positioning our youth to take part in the economic growth that will follow,” he added.
