Weekend showers impact multiple regions

Staff Reporter

THE past weekend brought significant rain showers to several parts of the country, particularly the northern and western regions.

Okongo in the Ohangwena Region and Ongwediva in the Oshana Region are just a few of the northern areas that experienced substantial rainfall. Rainfall in the north is expected to continue this week, with Rundu and Ondangwa highlighted as places likely to receive rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Several areas beyond the north also experienced rainfall over the weekend, including Windhoek in the Khomas Region and Gobabis in the Omaheke Region. The north-western and western parts of the country have also seen significant rainfall, which has had noticeable effects on rivers such as the Ugab and Omaruru.

According to the Namibia Meteorological Service, more rainfall is expected across various interior regions this weekend. Showers on Tuesday will mainly affect the Zambezi and Otjozondjupa regions. However, areas beyond these regions, such as Windhoek, are also expected to experience a few showers on Tuesday. Keetmanshoop is anticipated to receive rain on Wednesday.
