AN Angolan boy, aged 9, drowned while swimming with four other children in a water stream in the Omusati Region on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred in Oningilamo village in the Oshikuku Constituency.
According to the police, the children were grazing goats in the field when they decided to swim in a nearby water stream.
The deceased was identified as Titus Linus, originally from Olutunda village in Angola. He came to Namibia with his mother, who is employed in Oningilamo village as a domestic worker.
However, the drowning happened while his mother was absent, visiting relatives in Angola.
