A 49-YEAR-OLD woman, identified as Jeane Bezuidenhoudt, was shot and killed by a man whom she tried to stop from engaging in a fight.
According to the weekend crime report, the incident happened on 2 November 2024, at about 18:00 opposite Emerald Bar in Okahandja.
It is alleged that the suspect, Celwin Nowaseb, a 42-year-old Namibian man, shot the deceased, Jeane Bezuidenhoudt, after she attempted to intervene in his fight. Nowaseb reportedly pulled out a pistol and aimed it at the person he was quarrelling with over a scratched vehicle. When he pulled the trigger, he shot Bezuidenhoudt in the head, and the bullet struck the other person in the chest.
The suspect then shot himself.
Their next of kin have been informed. Meanwhile, the other victim, who was admitted to Okahandja State Hospital, is in stable condition. The police investigation is ongoing.
