THE Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Ohangwena Region has arrested a 38-year-old woman who allegedly attacked and struck a 30-year-old man on the head with a panga at Ondjabalala 1 village in the Endola area of Ohangwena.
Ohangwena Crime Investigation Coordinator Melanie Mburuu said the incident occurred on Sunday at an unknown time during the evening hours.
According to Mburuu, the suspect and victim allegedly had a fight at Ehenge location, Eenghala village, prior to the incident.
“The fight stopped, and the victim followed the suspect to her house, where he was struck on the head with a panga, after which he ran away,” she said.
She added that the victim was found in his room by neighbours on Monday in critical condition. They then informed the police, and the victim was transported to Engela State Hospital, where he is admitted in critical condition.
Mburuu indicated that the suspect has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and is expected to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court this week.
