PRESIDENT and SWAPO Party member Nangolo Mbumba said agriculture is essential for any society to feed itself and for economic growth and development to take place.
Mbumba made the remarks during the party’s star rally held in Khorixas.
According to Mbumba, the government continues to improve water infrastructure and support agriculture in the Kunene Region.

Further, Mbumba indicated that the government declared a State of Emergency and provided drought relief food assistance to 579,000 people, including farmers, to help weather the ongoing severe drought in the country.
“I encourage those responsible for distribution and delivery of assistance to carry out the task with honesty and fairness,” he said.
He added that as a party, they are ready to deliver investment, factories, employment, jobs, housing, hospitals, schools, safety and security, and many other provisions outlined in their election manifesto.
Mbumba emphasized that party members are ready to deliver.
“Our presidential candidate is ready to deliver,” he added.
He then urged the party’s supporters and sympathizers to go to the polls and vote to give the SWAPO Party a clear mandate to govern for another five years and continue developing Namibia and delivering services to its citizens.
