THE police in the Oshikoto Region have arrested two men for allegedly stealing a cow carcass worth N$10,000 on Saturday.
The duo, aged 24 and 26, are both Namibians.
Oshikoto Regional Commander, Commissioner Teopolina Kalompo-Nashikaku, said the two were arrested in the early hours of Saturday at Oshivelo Northern location.
According to Kalompo-Nashikaku, the suspects were apprehended through an intelligence-led operation.
“The suspects were allegedly found in possession of suspected stolen meat products and failed to give a satisfactory account for possessing such meat,” she said.
She added that the full cow carcass was recovered.
The two suspects are expected to appear in court this week at the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court.
