JUST like the Biblical Joshua, who was called to lead his people into the promised land and was exhorted to neither fear nor be terrified (Deuteronomy 31:6-8), so is Swapo Party presidential candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah called to lead Namibia into a brighter future, said Anglican priest and mayor of Ongwediva, Reverend Tarah Shalyefu, when he opened the Swapo Party rally with a short sermon and prayer at Oshakati on Saturday.
He said Nandi-Ndaitwah was not chosen to become the ruling party’s presidential candidate by chance. “This is a calling, but not an ordinary calling,” he said, adding that during the ongoing campaign, people are not only called upon to join Swapo but to vote for Swapo and its presidential candidate on 27 November.
