A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD school learner has been arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl at Omaalala village, Oshana Region.
Oshana Crime Investigation Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, said the incident occurred on Wednesday evening.
“It alleged that the suspect, who is a well-known neighbour, climbed over the house of the victim, went into the sleeping room where the victim was asleep with other children, and carefully removed the victim’s jeans and tights while the victim was asleep and raped her,” Ndjadila said.
He added that when the 13-year-old girl woke up, the suspect was kissing and raping her. She then managed to push him away, and one of the other children woke up and switched on the lamp light. The suspect allegedly ran away after that, leaving behind his floppy cap.
The matter was reported to the police by the victim’s 34-year-old biological mother.
