THE Namibian police have arrested nine suspects and confiscated drugs worth over N$320,000 in four separate incidents over the weekend.
The suspects’ ages range from 18 to 38, and their preferred drugs are cannabis and Mandrax.
At Arandis in the Erongo Region, a 24-year-old male suspect was arrested on Friday after he was allegedly found in possession of 188 grams of cannabis and five Mandrax tablets valued at a total of N$10,000.
Two suspects, aged 29 and 30, were arrested near Kalkrand early Saturday morning. They were allegedly found in possession of five parcels of compressed skunk cannabis and eight half-moon bricks of crack cocaine with a total value of N$296,250.
The police at Ariamsvlei arrested five male suspects aged 18, 25, 30, 31, and 38, who were allegedly found in possession of 105 grams of cannabis valued at N$5,250.
A 19-year-old suspect was arrested at the Windhoek-Okahandja traffic checkpoint on Saturday afternoon after he was allegedly found in possession of 2,005 grams of cannabis valued at N$100,250 and 74 full Mandrax tablets valued at N$8,880.
All nine suspects are expected to appear before the magistrates’ courts in the respective areas on Monday.
