THE Namibian police in the Erongo Region have apprehended a suspected drug dealer as he was embarking on a bus trip from Walvis Bay to the north, carrying a variety of dependency-producing drugs worth more than N$80,000.
The 42-year-old suspect was arrested Wednesday evening at the departure point for north-bound buses, thanks to a tip-off from police intelligence sources.
According to the police, law enforcement officers trailed the suspect’s movements until the loading zone where he was observed carrying a black backpack. Upon search, he was found with cannabis, crack cocaine, and Mandrax tablets valued at N$81,600.
“We applaud the public for cooperation in this regard,” said the police community affairs officer Ileni Shapumba.
