Oshikuku aims for quality service delivery

Maria David

THE Oshikuku Town Council remains committed to ensuring service delivery to the inhabitants, as revealed by the re-elected mayor, Julia Endjambi, on Tuesday.

Endjambi will be deputized by Petrus Petrus, while Linus Mingeli, Veronica Mwenyo, and Williams Sheende remain members of the management committee. Petrus Nambinga and Rosalia Kalimbo are ordinary council members.

Endjambi pledged to continue striving to find solutions to the challenges of their town. However, she said they cannot do it without the continued support of the community.

“Council’s budget is 85% based on own funds, and only 15% is subsidized by the government and other stakeholders such as the Road Funds administration,” she said.

She added that the task ahead is huge, and the community expects them to deliver as promised during the tabling of their 2023/24 budget.

“It is our collective responsibility and duty to ensure that we work together and deliver services to our residents and stakeholders through tangible development without favours,” she said.

She added that they are the servants of the Oshikuku community where they are expected to serve all beyond their political ideologies.

Further, Endjambi told her fellow councillors that they need to hit the ground running as the community expects them to deliver quality services that respond to their needs and address the challenges of the people.

She then urged the members of the councils and staff to strive at all times to add value by coming prepared to meetings to be able to contribute meaningfully to the deliberation and provide solutions and direction for the development of the town.
