THE police in Oshikoto are advising parents and guardians of children to leave their little ones in the hands of trusted individuals.
This comes after a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old Angolan man between April and July 2023 at an unknown time in the area of Omuthiya.
Oshikoto Regional Commander, Commissioner Teopolina Kalompo-Nashikaku, said that the victim was allegedly raped by the suspect, who is a cattle herder, while her grandmother was away at the grocery store.
Kalompo-Nashikaku confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and will appear before the Oshikoto Magistrate’s Court this week.
Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
