Three suspects on the run, after failed robbery attempted in Walvis Bay

THREE suspects are currently on the run after they allegedly tried to rob two Zimbabwean nationals, who overpowered them at a restaurant in Walvis Bay.

The trio are a woman and two men.

According to the weekend crime bulletin, the incident occurred on Thursday around 12:00.

It is alleged that the three suspects, attempted to rob two Zimbabwean nationals and Abantu Restaurant shop, located in the 10th Road, Walvis Bay, Erongo region.

According to police, two of the male suspects entered the shop and attacked two Zimbabwean national male victims who also visited the restaurant.

The suspects demanded and forced the victims to change the television channel.

One of the victim defended himself and in the process injured the suspect. The other victim, a Zimbabwean national also defended himself and overpowered one of the robbers who allegedly tried to stab him with a knife.

The suspects than fled into a gateway white Pollo sedan bearing a fake registration number plate.

The community chased the robbers up to Kuisebmond location, where all three suspects jumped out from the car and fled in different directions.

The vehicle was identified belonging to a rental car services and was rented out by one of the suspects from Windhoek.

No arrests have been made yet.

Police investigation into the matter continues.
