THERE are subsistence farmers in the flood-affected northern regions whose harvest will be zero this year, said senior traditional councilor Urias Ndilula of Oukwanyama’s Ohaingu district.
He said that although the floodwater has now subsided, serious damage to the crops is already done.
He said that the many people who had to evacuate their flooded homesteads, equally left behind their flooded mahangu fields and there won’t be any harvest for them this year.
“We hope that Our government will assist those who are negatively affected, as it has always done under similar circumstances,” said Ndilula.
