DAVID Nghishoono, a 37-years-old man who was arrested for attempted murder will now be charged for murder after the victim passed on, Monday, 23 January 2023 at Medipark Ongwediva in Oshana region.
It is alleged that on 9 January 2023 at about 21:35, Martin Nabot, a 37-year-old Namibian man was assaulted at Ondema village, Okongo constituency in Omusati region.
It was alleged that the suspect beat the deceased with a dry stick on his head which resulted in the victim sustaining serious injuries (an open wound).
The victim was rushed and admitted to Onandjokwe hospital in critical condition before being transferred to Ongwediva Medipark where he died after some days as a result.
It was further alleged that the suspect beat the deceased after mistaking the container of Tombo with water that he attempted to use to wash his hands after eating dinner.
The deceased and suspect with others were having dinner when the incident occurred.
The next of kin has been informed. Police investigations continue.
