A NEW beginning is on the horizon for the renowned Okapuka Game Ranch as it recently joined Gondwana Collection Namibia’s portfolio – a partnership that will, among other things, bring about a new look and name for the Ranch, which guests can enjoy from April 2023.
“The new joint venture is an undertaking comprising of equal shareholders between Klein Okapuka CC and Gondwana Collection Namibia, in terms of management,” Gondwana explained.
Originally established in 1998 and known for offering stunning game drives into the African Bushveld – despite being only 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the capital – Okapuka already has a reputation as a renowned mainstay in the Namibian Tourism industry. This reputation, according to Gondwana, will be further strengthened by the joint venture, which is expected to deliver a new chapter for both companies.

“A collaboration between Gondwana and Okapuka will mean starting a new chapter for both companies, where the authentic Savannah Bushveld with a well-established Game lodge on Windhoek’s doorsteps will join Gondwana’s long established customer base and footprint in the tourism market,” Gondwana said.
Besides this, Gondwana added, the recent joint venture with The Weinberg Windhoek will also enable collaborations between these two top locations, combining the convenience of the city, with the tranquillity of the bushveld.
Part of Okapuka’s new chapter involves an extensive renovation of the Ranch, which are expected to start in October. The new chapter will also come with a new name for Okapuka as it will be known as Okapuka Safari Lodge once its part of the Gondwana’s portfolio.
Guests will be able to enjoy the revamped lodge as from April 2023, but bookings can be made from 1 November, when the change of management commences.
