The Namibian Police (NamPol) has, during the period of 01 to 31 August, arrested 148 suspects for drug related matters, to a total value of N$2 035 904,00.
The suspects include 136 Namibians, six Angolans, one Congolese, a Tanzanian, a Botswana national, a Nigerian, a South African and a Zambian national.
The police indicated that the drugs in question, which were seized by the authorities, include 194 664.4kg of Cannabis, valued at N$1 946 644.00, 523 Mandrax tablets, valued at N$62 760.00, 39g of Cocaine Powder, valued at N$19 500.00 and 70 units of Crack cocaine, to the value of N$7 000.00
The police further urged Namibians to report all drug related activities to the nearest police station, adding that dealing in drugs is prohibited by the law and Namibians must be vigilant and save lives.
