B2 highway claims four lives

A HEAD-ON collision early on Independence Day involving a white double cab Toyota and a grey Polo Vivo on the B2 road between Karibib and Usakos claimed the lives of four people.

The accident occurred about 10 km from Karibib towards Usakos on Monday.

It is alleged that the driver of the double cab vehicle, which was travelling from Karibib, collided with the Polo, which was travelling from Usakos towards Karibib.

The Polo’s driver and three passengers died at the scene of the accident. The deceased are Ihuhwa Asaf Kamilo (37), Sheekuli Andreas, Festus Chris and Johanna Hamutenya. They were all Karibib residents and the next of kin have been informed.

The occupants of the double cab, Wilbardt Namidi and Rosalia Shaanika, both sustained serious injuries. Namidi was transferred to the Usakos State Hospital and Shaanika was transferred to the Windhoek State Hospital. Namidi was discharged on Tuesday.
