THE Namibian police in the Oshikoto Region have opened a docket of inquest after Paulus Ndapuka (52) was found hanging from a tree, allegedly after assaulting his girlfriend.
The discovery was made by the girlfriend in her mahangu field at Okambuwa village at around 15:05.
Regional Commander Commissioner Armas Shivute said the deceased was living with his girlfriend, who is also the mother of his child.
Shivute stated that the deceased allegedly came home from the cuca shop under the influence of alcohol and assaulted his girlfriend by pushing her to the ground and twisting her right wrist, resulting in the victim sustaining fractures.
“The girlfriend discovered Paulus’ lifeless body after returning home from the hospital,” he said.
Shivute added that the deceased’s next of kin have been informed and the body was transported to the Omuthiya police mortuary.
Police investigation into the matter continues.
