THE new booking system Gondwana Collection Namibia launched recently to simplify the booking process and make it more convenient for users, is a great success.
The Group’s Managing Director, Gys Joubert, earlier encouraged users to provide feedback on the system so they could improve on any anomalies and make the site more user-friendly.
According to Anthea Cloete, the Group Reservations Manager, many people have followed up on this offer, adding that 90% of the feedback is positive.

“The negative feedback is mostly advice, which the Group appreciates since we want to make the site more convenient for users. For example, some users advised the Group to add a map on the website’s landing page,” she said.
Cloete said the although the new booking system is doing well, it might not be everyone’s main booking preference as there are still many people who make last-minute bookings in person.
The majority of these clients are from Namibia.
“At the moment it is mostly locals supporting the business,” Cloete stated.
It is no secret that Covid-19 had an immense negative impact on the tourism industry.
Nonetheless, Cloete is hopeful that tourist arrivals will pick up again as travel restrictions are eased.
