THE heavy rainfall received in the north-eastern parts of the country a few days ago has spread to the central parts and especially the deep south of Namibia, with warnings of flash floods in many areas.
People are advised not to cross fast flowing rivers, especially if they do not know the area.
Hundreds shared their photos and videos of the wondrous sights of water, as well as people and pets enjoying the blessings from the sky.
Daniel Louw from the Grootfontein area on Sunday said they received 110 mm in two days on their farm.
On the Facebook page Reën in Namibia, Gerrit Spangenberg from Kalkrand posted: “Fish River’s first water for the year!”
Rudolf Kaffie de Koe posted a spectacular photo on another page, Rain Namibia, with the comment: “Bullsport, 15:00, the Namib in all its glory.”
In the capital, the Klein Windhoek River came down in full force and the Avis Dam received inflow.
More rain is expected this week in northeast, central and southern Namibia.
According to Namibia Weather Network, especially central Namibia will get wet, with between 25 mm and 50 mm predicted for some parts.
