THE Erongo Police need the assistance of the public to trace the whereabouts of Sofia Nangula Kanandjembo (31 years old) and her son Joseph AJ Vilho (2) who have been missing since Saturday 8 January.
According to the police, the mother and her son, who reside at House 6962 in Kabeljou Street of the Kuisebmond neighbourhood of Walvis Bay, went to town to pick up school uniform jerseys for the children.
In town, she allegedly met up with the father of her son. She asked him to drop them off at WoermannBrock in Narraville at about 13:00 on the same day.
Mother and son have been missing ever since.
Kanandjembo texted the father of her son from a different number, saying she “messed up” and she “is going away”.
She previously stayed in Okahandja but her friend there was contacted and said she hasn’t seen her.
Kanandjembo’s phone has been off since Saturday.
She is about 1.70 m tall and was last seen wearing a black sweater, blue jeans and flip-flops.
Anyone who has seen the mother or son or who has information on their whereabouts is urgently requested to contact Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu on 081 246 4757, Detective Inspector Ambambi on 081 640 1600 or any nearest police station.
