THE Namibian police in Omusati Region are yet to identify a man who died as a result of dehydration due to malnutrition.
People who are looking for a missing family member, friend or acquaintance, might assist the police in the matter.
Commissioner Titus Shikongo, Omusati Regional Commander, said a post mortem was done after the body of an unknown man was discovered recently at the Ondukuta village in the Tsandi Constituency.
Shikongo said a passerby found the deceased’s lifeless body on the ground in an uncultivated yard at the Ondukuta village with no signs of injuries or physical harm observed on the body.
“The unknown deceased male is short, skinny, and dark in complexion with short hair. He has a burn scar on the right arm and left buttock,” he said.
The deceased was wearing long trousers but no shirt or shoes. There were also no personal documents found on him.
Shikongo said attempts to trace family or acquaintances have to date been unsuccessful.
The body is kept at the Okahao police mortuary while the police try to find the next of kin.
Police investigation into the matter continues.
