FARMERS in the Hochfeld area are in desperate need of assistance, while fires are raging uncontrollably from Midguard in the direction of the M53.
On Wednesday morning reports were received that Farms Ekuja, Korasie, Merino and Borialis are under threat, with 85% of Klein Onganja that had already burned. The fires are rapidly spreading to neighbouring farms.
The situation in the Omitara area is still not under control and urgent requests for help have been reported since yesterday.
Otjere Wildlife Lodge situated on the M53 in the direction of Steinhausen is also said to be struggling due to the lack of people who can assist in extinguishing the fires there.
