THE Namibian Police Force in Oshana Region has on Saturday arrested a wanted suspect in various housebreaking cases reported in Oshakati over time.
The suspect has been on the run since March this year but was recognised by some of the complainants residing in the Uupindi location while at his hideout.
The community then alerted members of NamPol, who were busy conducting curfew patrols.
Oshana regional Community Affairs Officer, Inspector Thomas Aiyambo said it’s good to see teamwork from community members when it comes to fighting crime.
“The suspect has been arrested and in police custody awaiting trails,” he said.
Speaking to Informanté, Eliaser Shigwedha the complainant, said that the suspect steals and disappears from town before any arrest is made.
Shigwedha said that they have been searching for him since he opened the case of housebreaking with the intent to steal on 24 March 2021.
