THE Namibian Police Force in the Oshana Region has registered an inquest into the death of the seven-year-old Melanie Joyce Paulus, who drowned in a deep well.
According to the incident report issued by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police, the tragic incident occurred around 11h30 at the Onankulo Village-Uukwiyu Uushona.
“It’s alleged that that the girl went to the well with other children to fetch water when slipped and fell into the well while she was trying to retrieve her water bucket from the well,” the report states.
According to the report, the child’s body has already been retrieved.
