THE much-anticipated Kora Music Awards court case was set down to take place from Monday to Friday next week.
The controversial case involves the embezzlement of millions of dollars, for an award show that was supposed to take place in Namibia. The show was abruptly cancelled and the money disappeared.
The matter will be heard in the Windhoek High Court before Judge Herman Oosthuizen, between the Namibia Tourism Board and Mundial Telecom Sarl.
The lawsuit by NTB against Mundial Telecom Sarl battle began in 2016. Kora awards founder. The NTB also cited Ernest Adjovi and Tonata Shiimi as respondents in the lawsuit. NTB is suing for N$23.5 million plus 20% interest which they say was paid for the awards show that never happened.
Mundial Telecom owns the rights to host the Kora Awards, Adjovi acted as the president of the company while Shiimi, a Namibian national, acted as the awards show’s national director.
