CARS counting in the hundreds per hour are on their way back to the hinterland of Namibia from the coast as the Easter weekend is coming to an end.
Reports from the Police checkpoint outside Swakopmund have it that in the region of 700 cars per hour were leaving the coastal region at some stage.
The high traffic volume is increasing the risk of motor vehicle accidents and motorists are cautioned to practice patience and to observe all traffic regulations to ensure that they reach their destinations safely.
Any emergency situation can be reported at the 10111 emergency number of the Namibian Police. The emergency number for the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA) is 9682 and should be called in case an ambulance needs to be dispatched to an accident scene.
