THE community of Rehoboth has been rocked by the drowning of a ten-year-old boy in a waterhole formed by recent heavy rains late on Sunday afternoon.
According to member of the community, the boy and some of his friends went swimming in the donga in the area of the Bahnhoff train station on the outskirts of Rehoboth.
Friends of the deceased child ran to get help from nearby houses after he disappeared under the water.
When the boy’s body was retrieved from the muddy water, it was too late to revive him and emergency personnel declared him dead on the scene.
The name of the boy has not been made public yet.
