A SECURITY guard who was busy relieving himself in the bushes found a newborn baby boy wrapped in a black plastic bag in the Onethindi-Oniipa area on Saturday.
According to the weekend serious crime bulletin provided by the Namibian Police, the discovery of the still alive baby boy was made around 07:40 in a bush under a tree.
“The baby boy was rescued,” said the police.
The police is now requesting the public to assist in tracing the mother of the newborn.
In another incident at Onandjaba, a 20-year-old woman was arrested after she gave birth to baby boy on Christmas Day and dumped the newborn in a field at Ohamutu village.
A case of attempted murder, as well as concealment of birth have been registered.
