AN autopsy is to be conducted to determine the actual cause of the 22-year-old Simeon Iikasha January’s death after his body was found hanging from the roof inside a traditional hut with a steel wire around his neck.
Omusati Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Titus Shikongo, said the incident occurred around 15h30 on Sunday at Oshithashembungu Village in the Onesi Constituency.
According to Shikongo, the deceased was visiting at a neighbour’s house with his housemate, but he decided to go back home earlier, leaving his housemate behind.
“It is alleged that when the housemate returned home, he was shocked to find the body of his friend hanging from the roof of the hut,” he said.
Shikongo stated that the deceased did not leave any suicide note, and the motive for taking his own life could not yet be established. No foul play is suspected.
“The Body is kept at the mortuary of the Onesi health centre will be transported to Okahao police mortuary for post mortem purposes,” he added.
