ONDONGA Traditional Authority (OTA) leader King Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo on Saturday installed Fillemon Shuumbwa “King” Kauluma, as the new senior traditional leader for the Ongulayanetanga district.
The 48-year-old Kauluma succeeds his late father and former chairperson of the OTA council Peter Shimweefeleni Kauluma who died in February this year.
Addressing the audience, King Shuumbwa, said the appointment of Kauluma is a fulfillment of the responsibility given to him to perform by the two fallen leaders King Elifas and the late Kauluma back in 2010.
King Shuumbwa at the same occasion advised the newly appointed Kauluma to entrust his new responsibility in the hands of the God if he wants to be a successful leader.
He also urged the community of Ongulayanetanga to offer their new leader the necessary support he will require.
In his acceptance, Kauluma promised to lead the people of his district to prosperity and in the right direction.
“I would like to thank God, the ancestors and the community of Ondonga for entrusting me with the responsibility to be a leader of Ongulayanetanga district,” said Kauluma.
Minister of Urban and Rural Development Peya Mushelenga, also congratulated the newly appointed leader and urged him to lead his people in the right path.
The event which was attended by people from all walks of life, included the Queen of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority Martha Kristian Nelumbu and former First Lady Penehupifo Pohamba.
