THE tourism sector in Namibia continues to play important role in the economy of the country by contributing to the economic growth be it at local or at regional levels.
The Stop ‘n Stay Rest Camp, which was established to be a catalyst for poverty reduction, gender equality, wealth distribution and rural development, was official inaugurated on Monday. Moreover, the new facility will provide services to tourists coming to Otavi in order to grow the economy of the town.
According to Birgit Muenz, Owner of the Rest Camp, the Camp will contribute to the development of the town, as most of the people first stop is always in Otavi before proceeding to their other destinations.
“There is not a lot of accommodation available locally and there is still a need for developing more accommodation facilities since the town is at a good location, which can accessed by anyone passing by,” said Muenz.
Muenz stated that the brand new accommodation facility provides a total of nine rooms including three rooms with an attached bathroom as well as three campsites including one luxury campsite with an own bathroom facility.
The Rest Camp is located on the outskirts of Otavi in the direction of Outjo
Former High Commissioner of the Republic of Nambia to India, Ambassador Pius Dunaiski was amongst the people that attended the official inauguration.
