India will look to take one step closer towards qualifying for semi-finals of the 2019 Cricket World Cup with a win against out-of-form Afghanistan side at the Hampshire Bowl in the first match of the double header day.
Gulbadin Naib’s Afghanistan have lost all five of their matches in the tournament so far whereas Virat Kohli-led India have not lost any. Afghanistan are currently at the bottom of the points table and India find themselves in the fourth position with seven points from only four games.
In the second match, New Zealand is set to take on the West Indies at Old Trafford.
Kane Williamson-led New Zealand currently sits at second position on the points table and a win against the West Indies will take them to the top. West Indies, on the other hand, have lost momentum. They have won only one out of five matches and are currently at sixth position with just one win in five games.
It is a must-win game for Jason Holder’s side to stay in the hunt for the semi-final spot.
