Namibia beats Uruguay in Montevideo

The senior Namibian National Rugby team beat the host nation Uruguay with two points in the dying seconds of the match in Montevideo.
The boot of Cliven Loubser carried the day when he put a penalty kick through the uprights at the end of the match giving the Namibians a score of 30 – 28. He also kicked two other penalties and converted the three tries scored by JC Greyling and Janco Venter during the match.
The Uruguayans fought back after trailing 7 – 17 at the half time whistle and scored a try at the corner flag shortly before the end of the game.
The Namibians were then trailing 27 -28 but was awarded a penalty during a maul shortly afterwards.
Loubser kicked the ball through the uprights from the opposition’s five yard line ensuring that Namibia register their first victory of the 2019 Nations Cup.
Earlier in the week during their opening match of the tournament, the Namibian team suffered a 39-25 defeat against the Argentina XV.
