On the eve of their African Cup of Nations Qualifier game against the Chipololo of Zambia in Luska, the President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Geingob has thrown his full support behind the Brave Warriors.
In an official statement Dr. Geingob encouraged the Namibian team to do everything in their power to win their final Group K qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt in June 2019.
“Our football has come of age. Standing on the eve of the third qualification of the Brave Warriors for the AFCON Finals is ample demonstration of our footballing achievements over the past 29 years. I am confident about a win in Lusaka on Saturday afternoon. The whole nation is behind the Brave Warriors. They should finish the job that they have started by making it to the finals in Egypt in June 2019,” Dr. Geingob said expressing optimism about the chances of the Brave Warriors to go through to the finals.
Namibia in their last three matches against the Chipololo, walked away drawn scores every time.
With Zambia last in the group and virtually eliminated from the finals and Namibia at second place in the group, the Brave Warriors need at the very least a draw. A win by group leaders Guinea-Bissau over Mozambique will also seal their fate.
On the eve of the important match the President also wished the coaching staff, the players and the entire team well in their final preparations.
