FOUR armed men allegedly robbed a bar in Omulunga, Grootfontein, on Friday night, assaulting a security guard and forcing a bar attendant to open a safe before fleeing with about N$16,000 in cash and a cellphone.
According to the Namibian Police weekend crime report, one of the suspects entered the bar, bought drinks and played jackpot games. At around 21:45, three other men allegedly joined him, one of whom was armed with a pistol.
The suspects allegedly assaulted the security guard and forced the bar attendant to open the safe before stealing the cash and her cellphone.
The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
The cellphone was later recovered near the scene, along with three backpacks containing clothes, sneakers and suspected housebreaking tools.
No arrests have been made and police investigations are ongoing.
